Description The Maultier ambulance was a German half‑track medical transport used during the Second World War, created by fitting a tracked suspension to the Opel Blitz truck to improve mobility on mud and snow. This hybrid design allowed it to reach front‑line positions where normal wheeled ambulances struggled. The ambulance body could carry several stretcher cases or seated wounded, offering basic protection and a steadier ride across rough terrain. Although not armoured, it was valued for its reliability and adaptability. The Maultier ambulance played a practical role in German medical logistics, helping evacuate casualties more effectively in challenging battlefield conditions.
